Muvoc Noise Filter

Description

MUVOC Noise Filter combines MUVOC Core Analysis and an adaptive filter. This solution attenuates the ambient noise and enhances the voice clarity and intelligibility, and thereby improves the listening conditions.

 

It preserves the naturalness of the original voice without deforming it even for high-level ambient noise.

 

MUVOC Noise Filter needs only one channel (a single microphone).

 

Technical Features

  • 20-25 dB noise reduction (stationary or transient noise, quantification noise).
  • 35dB noise reduction for narrowband noise.
  • Needs less than 100 ms to adapt to a change of noise type.
  • Sampling frequency : 8kHz, 16kHz, 32kHz and 64kHz.
  • Handles frames of 16ms to 32ms.
  • Integrated VAD (Voice Activity Detection).
  • Drastically improves the VAD of existing vocoders.
  • Enables vocoder tandeming.
  • Improves Voice Recognition engine performance.

 

The speech quality after applying the noise filter is quantified in the figure to the right based on the PESQ standard (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality). The quality is expressed in MOS (Mean Opinion Score). The same performance gain has been obtained using STT (Speech To Text) combined with the Noise Filter.
